Sangeeta Bhatia is hoogleraar aan het Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston. Haar pionierswerk in de regeneratieve geneeskunde èn haar rol als pleitbezorger voor diversiteit en gendergelijkheid, is voor de Universiteit Utrecht reden om tijdens de 381e viering van de Dies Natalis op 27 maart een eredoctoraat aan haar uit te reiken.
